In this time of pandemic, it is easy and natural for us to default to habitual patterns of response to the stressful and uncertain times we are living in. By cultivating mindfulness and compassion towards ourselves and others, we can find another, more skillful response that helps us live with greater freedom and ease. Mindfulness allows us to connect fully with our lived experience and to come back when we recognize we’ve moved into worrying about the future, ruminating on the past, or disconnecting from our experience.
We will practice sitting and walking meditation together in our own spaces, supported by short talks, stories, poetry, and sharing. The emphasis of the instructions will be on cultivating a relaxed awareness in all our moments with an attitude of acceptance and kindness.
