IMCC Fall Residential Retreat: Cultivating a Heart Unshaken with Sharon Beckman-Brindley and Hugh Byrne

  • Serenity Ridge Retreat Center 554 Drumheller Ln Shipman, VA 22971 USA (map)

When we encounter difficulties, we can be tempted to lose heart and imagine that something is wrong. In our spiritual practice, however, we are invited to see and to deeply investigate these moments as blessings and powerful learning opportunities. The Dharma guides us to cultivate wholesome attitudes: qualities of mind and heart that support our opening to change and challenge as wonderful and happy practice. With these,  we are able to discover ever deeper and more creative possibilities, developing steadfast and peace-filled presence in our relations with our internal and external worlds.

This retreat will be an opportunity for you to establish, re-discover, or deepen your contemplative practice.  It is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned meditators. Through the skilled guidance of our teachers, you will be supported in exploring, healing, and transforming your relationship with yourself and all of creation.

So that participants may fully experience the benefits of the teachings and our practice, the retreatants will maintain noble silence, except for question/answer periods and meetings with the teachers. We will alternate sitting practice with walking meditation, and daily mindful movement classes will be offered.
